Frequently Asked Questions
For a full detailed guide on how to connect to a telehealth appointment CLICK HERE >
What is Telehealth?
Telehealth is our telehealth program that runs through a secure platform (Mend). In this platform you can register as a patient and request an appointment! We are currently offering flexible hours for both psychiatry and talk therapy. The appointment is a video call with one of our providers through the platform (similar to FaceTime or Skype). Any prescriptions will be sent electronically to your pharmacy.
How do I sign up for Telehealth?
We recommend that you use the following browsers: Google Chrome or Firefox.
Do I need any special equipment for a Telehealth appointment?
You need a few basics: a computer or compatible mobile service (tablet or smartphone), a webcam, and a microphone. If your computer or mobile device already has an integrated camera and microphone, you shouldn’t need any extra equipment to get started.
Does my insurance cover this?
At this time, MindPath Care Centers in Mental Health Care will file telehealth claims for BCBS, United Health Care, and Cigna plans.
What is Psychiatry vs. Therapy?
Therapy: Counseling that targets a person’s overall mental health and wellbeing. It focuses on thoughts, behaviors, beliefs, emotions, relationships and social skills. Carried out by a licensed professional with a Master’s or Ph.D.
Psychiatry: Medical specialty based on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental health disorders. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor, nurse, or physician assistant and prescribes medications for mental health disorder.
I see a med provider in office. Can I use Telehealth for therapy (and vice versa)?
How much does the first appointment cost?
Out-of-pocket fees: Initial medication appointments are $195 and initial therapy appointments are $92. Follow ups for medication management range from $49 for 15 minutes and $160 for 60 minutes. Follow ups for therapy range from $39 for 30 minutes and $92 for 60 minutes. Please note: Prices may vary by state.
Insurance: Each appointment will be filed to your insurance plan and you will be responsible for either the MH/SA or Specialist copay or the amount billed toward your deductible.
Is my card charged when I enter it to request the appointment

I have a question about my upcoming appointment
Emotions can hit hard, and fast, and sometimes we can feel lost on how to cope. That’s why MindPath Care Centers developed the Virtual Waiting Room where you can connect with a licensed mindcare specialist without leaving your space.
Using the Virtual Waiting Room can help alleviate concerns before they become an emergency. You wouldn’t let a fever go un-examined, so don’t let your mindcare go unchecked.
Our Virtual Waiting Room can be used:
- For medication concerns
- When experiencing heightened anxiety or a panic attack
- If hopelessness or feelings of loneliness occur
- For a mental health check-in
- After a traumatic event happens
Available hours: Monday – Friday | 8:30am – 5:00pm
In-network with Medicaid, Medicare, Tricare, Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, and United Healthcare
If you are experiencing a life threatening emergency, please call 911 or go to your local emergency room. This includes a dangerous self-harm incident, suicidal ideation, homicidal thoughts, or you are in fear of being harmed by someone else.
