About Regina Melendez Nagarajan, MD
Dr. Nagarajan is passionate about creating safe and healing spaces for people when they are at their most vulnerable. In her practice she upholds Maya Angelou’s wisdom that, “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Taking a holistic and collaborative approach with patients, Dr. Nagarajan looks at the biological, psychological and social factors affecting their health to create multimodal treatment plans that consider the whole person and his or her circumstances. As a former middle school teacher, she developed a love of education and working with families, experience that now translates into helping patients and families define meaningful goals together. Working extensively in the past with patients with severe mental illness has honed her skills at managing crises and leading multidisciplinary treatment teams. Prioritizing patient empowerment, Dr. Nagarajan feels privileged to learn about people’s experiences and be entrusted with the care of their mental health and well-being.
