About Melanie Powell, MSW, LCSW
Melanie’s goal is to reduce the effects of trauma and instill hope in victims of violence and assault. She has over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and seniors using individual, group, and family therapy. Melanie has over five years of experience working with survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. She works with child survivors and witnesses to horrific acts of violence. Melanie utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, eclectic psychotherapy, interpersonal therapy, solution-focused therapy, crisis intervention, and motivational interviewing. She has effected change on the macro scale engaging legislators and getting bills passed that increased penalties for perpetrators of abuse.
