About Derek Chapman, PA

Derek Chapman understands that in order to live a healthy and fulfilling life, one must take care of the body and the mind. While mental illness can affect everyone differently and to different extents, not everyone is equipped with the tools to succeed in their own mental health alone. As a Physician Assistant, Derek strives to provide an environment of understanding and encouragement in trying to meet personalized mental health goals through education on healthy habits and how to cope with life stressors, assistance in finding appropriate therapies, and medication management. Prior to starting with MindPath, Derek received his training as a Physician Assistant from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Myers, FL, where he received his M.S. in Health Sciences. Derek has spent over 3 years working in inpatient psychiatric settings where his focus was towards helping those with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizoaffective/schizophrenia. Regardless of whether you are seeking treatment for the first time or are looking to continue your care through MindPath services, Derek will strive to offer personalized care, friendly interactions, as well as the tools to succeed in your journey to better your mental health.

Derek was incredibly helpful assessing my needs and providing a second opinion. Grateful to meet him in the "virtual waiting room" for an immediate need. Hoping to have similarly positive experiences as I continue with MindPath care.

He was so understanding of my past and accepting and encouraging of where I am today. He provided so much valuable advice, specific to my situation, and was so knowledgeable when speaking about options to take. Please give him a big hug and a hearty slap on the back, because he is the best mental health provider I ve ever had.
